Reading-This week, we'll begin the reading strategies NOTICE AND NOTES. See the chart below for reference.

Aha Moment
Language/Writing- Students will finish their personal narrative essay this week, then we'll move on to writing using the RACE strategy. We will also be learning how to use commas with yes/no, tag questions, and direct address.
Spelling: Students should be working on Lesson 5 this week, Spelling is all on-line and students are expected to practice and complete lessons each week.
Math- We'll review all decimal place value concepts at the beginning of the week, then move on to working with Powers of Ten.
Science-Unit test is Friday, October 4th please use the references on my blog to help your child study. They are linked on the Science page from the top menu. Students will be evaluated on the following standards:
S5E1. Obtain, evaluate, and communicate information to identify surface features on the Earth caused by constructive &/or destructive processes.
a. Construct an argument supported by scientific evidence to identify surface features as being caused by constructive &/or destructive processes.
b. Develop simple interactive models to collect data that illustrate how changes in surface features are/were caused by constructive &/or destructive processes.
c. Ask questions to obtain information on how technology is used to limit &/or predict the impact of constructive & destructive processes.
